SftTree/OCX 6.0 - New Features

SftTree/OCX 6.0 is virtually 100% upward compatible from version 5.0 and older versions. The following major enhancements are now available in SftTree/OCX 6.0:

• Support for new image formats, such as PNG, TIFF, JPEG, GIF, Exif, EMF+, EMF (GDI+ images) with full support for alpha-blended (translucent and semi-transparent) images
  

• Support for content windows, which are complete, user-defined windows that are rendered as one cell. Possible uses are to display Flash, Windows Media Player or Web browser controls, dialogs, and other child windows
  

• New selection outline display style (see OutlineStyle) which supports a rounded outline rectangle with a gradient fill used for selected items, flyby highlighting and drop targets (SelectOutlineBorderColor, SelectInnerBorderColor, SelectInnerFill1, SelectInnerFill2, SelectHotOutlineBorderColor, SelectHotInnerBorderColor, SelectHotInnerFill1, SelectHotInnerFill2, SelectNoFocusOutlineBorderColor, SelectNoFocusInnerBorderColor, SelectNoFocusInnerFill1, SelectNoFocusInnerFill2, HotOutlineBorderColor, HotInnerBorderColor, HotInnerFill1, HotInnerFill2, DropTargetOutlineBorderColor, DropTargetInnerBorderColor, DropTargetInnerFill1, DropTargetInnerFill2)
  

• Transition effects for expand/collapse buttons and tree lines on all operating systems (similar to transition effects found on Windows Vista), see MouseOverTransitionEffect

  

• New properties to define the expand/collapse buttons' appearance and display using ButtonAppearance, ButtonExpanded, ButtonExpandedDown, ButtonExpandedHot, ButtonCollapsed, ButtonCollapsedDown, ButtonCollapsedHot

• New keyboard input search modes

• New SmoothScroll property to control vertical pixel by pixel scrolling (for small scrolling increments)

• The Save/Load methods now support saving/loading data in a user-specified file.

• The source files OLEConvert.cs or OLEConvert.vb are no longer needed - a new component (SftHelperComponent) is now available that assists in ActiveX to .NET transitioning, allowing for easier handling of .NET Color, Image and Font types.

• Support for Visual Studio 2008.

• Help integration for Visual Studio 2008, Visual Studio Express and Codegear products (in addition to all others which were already supported in previous releases)

• New samples

• Enhanced property pages.
