SftTree/OCX 6.5 - New Features

SftTree/OCX 6.5 is virtually 100% upward compatible to version 6.0 and older versions. Upgrading a project from an older version usually takes just a few minutes. The following major enhancements are now available in SftTree/OCX 6.5:

• Windows 98 and Windows ME are no longer supported. For support of these platforms, an older version of SftTree/OCX must be used instead (version 6.0 or earlier).
• Now includes 64-bit controls in addition to the 32-bit controls. This is most useful for all managed .NET applications compiled for "Any CPU" and for native C++ and MFC applications compiled as 64-bit applications.
• The file Softelvdm.OCXHelperV2.dll (required for managed .NET applications) no longer needs to be registered for COM Interop, simplifying distribution and installation of end-user applications - XCOPY deployment of this file is now possible.
• New properties to extract the current cell (index and column) during cell editing (see EditIndex, EditColumn).
• The row/column header can now override Windows themes colors using the RowColumnHeader.OverrideTheme property.
• Column headers can now define individual colors and override Windows themes (see Header.OverrideTheme, Header.BackColor, Header.ForeColor, Header.SelectBackColor, Header.SelectForeColor, Header.BackColorDisabled, Header.ForeColorDisabled).
• Column ordering can now be loaded/saved (see Columns.Order).
• Column widths can now be loaded/saved (see Columns.Widths).
• Each column can now define a gradient fill background color, instead of a simple, solid background (see Column.BackColorEnd, Column.SelectBackColorEnd and Column.BackColorOrientation).
• A cell can now contain a progress bar (see Cell.ProgressValue, Cell.ProgressMax, Cell.ProgressColor, Cell.ProgressColorEnd, Cell.ProgressColorOrientation, Cell.ProgressStyle, Column.ProgressColor, Column.ProgressColorEnd, Column.ProgressColorOrientation, Column.ProgressStyle).
• Each cell can now define a gradient fill background color, instead of a simple, solid background (see Cell.BackColorEnd, Cell.SelectBackColorEnd and Cell.BackColorOrientation).
• Additional Items.GridStyle values.
• New Items.DisabledItemsSelectable property to define disabled items as selectable.
• The Items.FlybyHighlight property has been replaced by the Items.FlybyHighlightStyle property, which offers an additional style.
• New Items.FindCell method which allows searching of subsets of items, with starting ending index, levels, etc.
• New Items.CalcOptimalCell method to determine whether cell contents are truncated.
• Row headers can now override Windows themes (see RowHeader.OverrideTheme).
• New events signaling when column resizing starts and ends (see ColumnSizeStarted, ColumnSizeEnded).
• Default color values for the selection outline are now operating system dependent.
